Workshops, Clubs, and Activities

As we get closer to our grand opening, let‘s talk about our goals and vision for the Wonder Forge!

Redwoods Wonder Forge aims to be a community hub where youth and families can engage in various S.T.E.A.M. activities and programs. Our plans include organizing multiple camps, workshops, programs, fun nights, and open play times. We will also offer the space for hosting birthday parties and group events. Additionally, we will facilitate the formation, mentorship, and competitions of various FIRST Inspires programs.

As part of our mission, we will host and participate in various S.T.E.A.M.-related events, workshops, and classes, and field FIRST Inspires teams. These initiatives aim to spark curiosity and inspire a passion for discovery among youth aged 4-18.

Examples of our programs include:

-Workshops on 3-D printing and programming

-Monthly Teen and Family Fun Nights for gaming, crafting, and socializing

-Robotics classes and events using Sphero Indies, mBot, Lego Mindstorms, Lego Spike, and other robots

-Diverse arts and creative classes such as UV Resin Jewelry making and multimedia projects like paper mache, acrylics, and epoxy resin collages

-Free play sessions (subject to space availability) featuring S.T.E.A.M.-themed items like marble runs, open Lego tables, and programming stations with available robots

-A designated craft area Access to maker tools with mentorship, including a Cricut Maker, heat press, sewing machine, UV Resin tools, various 3D printers, and more as we expand!

The Wonder Forge draws inspiration from a variety of venues. The founders would like to see a space that resembles both a children’s museum, with a variety of programs and a maker space. Children’s museums and discovery centers are wonderful examples of turning child-led play into an exploration of S.T.E.A.M concepts and education. We want youth to be able to explore their wonder and see where their natural curiosity leads. We believe that by facilitating a wide array of different experiences, we can spark interest and joy in a vast spectrum of youth.
